PURPOSE:To obtain a carbonaceous molded body, which is compact and impermeable to air and having excellent electroconductivity, by adding a thermosetting resin having a limited amt. of nonvolatile matter to powdered graphite having a specified aspect ratio and grain size, kneading, molding, and curing. CONSTITUTION:The 12-34pts.wt. phenolic or other thermosetting resin having >=65% nonvolatile matter is added to 100pts.wt. powdered graphite having <=3 aspect ratio and <=104mu grain size wherein its 10-80% is regulated to <=50mu. The mixtue is kneaded, compression-molded with dies etc., and then cured by heat treatment or hot press or the like. In this way, the carbonaceous molded body, having <=0.03OMEGA-cm electric resistivity and 1X10<-4>cm<3>/sec air permeability, can be obtained. This method is suitable for manufacturing a separator of a fuel cell etc. |
