PURPOSE:To eliminate pilot flame and to ensure safety in case a device fails in reignition when flame goes out half-burnt, by a method wherein a device is automatically ignited only through control of a cock, and an electromagnetic value is closed in case the flame goes out half-burnt. CONSTITUTION:With cocks 3a and 3b opened, water flows through a water passage 1, S1, S2 and S3, serving as a water-jet switch 2 are all turned ON, and spark discharge is caused at an ignition electrode 7 to effect ignition. In case combustion of a burner 6 goes out half-burnt, and a current is prevented from flowing through a flame detecting body 8, whereby a transistor 19 is turned OFF to demagnetize a coil 20, and spark discharge is produced again to effect ignition. In case a device fails in reignition, since S3 and S4 are turned ON and the coil 20 is demagnetized, after a time set by a timer consisting of a resistance R1 and a capacitor 25 has elapsed, a transistor 24 is turned ON, the electromagnetic valve is closed to automatically stop supply of gas. This permits ignition of a device without using a pilot flame, and enables to prevent leakage of gas. |
