PURPOSE:To quickly effectuate the conveyance and positioning of a veneer on a ruler, by bringing the free ends of linear elements of a conveying roller into contact with the bottom of the veneer on a conveyor to place one end of the veneer on the surface of the ruler. CONSTITUTION:When a veneer S is transferred onto a conveyor 1 as the fibers of the veneer are oriented almost perpendicularly to the direction of conveyance of the veneer, a rotating conveyance roller 5 comes into contact with the bottom of the veneer so that the free ends of linear elements 7 planted in the rotary shaft 6 of the roller are continually brought into touch with the bottom of the veneer as the linear elements are inclined further toward a ruler surface 4a due to the weight of the veneer. For this reason, a conveying force acts to the veneer S to bring one end of the veneer into contact with the ruler surface 4a to position the veneer on the ruler and apply a force for conveying the veneer perpendicularly to the direction of its fibers. |
