PURPOSE:To prevent rupture of bellows installed at a cylinder, by forming the bellows from a flexible diaphragm made of a plurality of thin films laminated. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 11 is equipped with bellows 13 in the form of a ring, which are expanded by fluid pressure so as to press a friction plate 7 for clutching. The bellows 13 are formed from corrugated flexible diaphragms 19, 20 made of a plurality of thin films 19a, 19b, 20a, 20b laminated one over another. This gives the bellows 13 a greater stiffness in radial direction than its axial direction so as to provide possibility of enlarging the expansion stroke in the axial direction while the bellows are restricted from expanding in the radial direction. Thus rupture of bellows 13 is prevented. |
