The inhaler has a mouthpiece (9) connecting with a chamber (2) for housing a medicament container (4,5), e.g. a blister pack. The chamber (2) has an air inlet (11) and an openable and closable lid (7). When the lid (7) is moved to closed position the medicament container (5) is automatically opened. Specifically by a spike (12) on the inside of the lid.
