PURPOSE:To improve positional percision by composing the captioned device for a steel plant so as to correct a pulse increment two times on the basis of an actually measured distance during tranfer of a slab and a fixed distance to a detector at the nearest position to the slab. CONSTITUTION:A distance between a position of advance of the tip of a slab and a starting point 33 of automatic regular position control is calculated through adding the number of pulse produced in a position detector 9 during passage of a slab to a distance between position detectors 6, 7. Then, according to required formulas, operation is performed in sequence in other to find out a distance L between a slab deceleration point 32 and the starting point 33 of automatic regular position control, distance correction of a detector 10 at the nearest position to a target stop position, and an actual distance LA between said detector 10 at the nearest position to a target stop position and the slab deceleration point. When LA comes to O, command of stop to the slab is given to a d.c. motor 11. Positioning of high precision for the slab can be performed by this structure. |
