PURPOSE:A hair tonic having not only hair growing and hair nourishing effect, but also humectant and tissue-activating action, showing improved nontoxicity and improved stability, containing pantetheine-S-sulfonic acid and/or its salt. CONSTITUTION:An agent for external use or a base for hair is blended with pantetheine-S-sulfonic acid shown by the formula (M is H, alkali metal, or 1/2 alkaline earth metal) and/or its salt. Pantetheine-S-sulfonic acid and its salt have not only extremely improved hair growing and hair nourishing effects, but also humectant and tissue-activating action which are preferable in terms of skin and hair science. It is nontoxic because toxicity data is >=10g/kg by oral administration to fats, it is odorless and has high safety. It is not only effective for men, but also useful as an animal hair tonic to promote growth of furs and to improve color and luster of furs for animals for collecting furs such as fox, mink, etc. |
