PURPOSE:To obtain a material consisting of a biological high molecular constituent, suitable for electrophoretic analysis and of which a sheet and an electrophoretic gel layer of an aq. gel are not peeled off in operation, by forming a medium layer of the aq. gel on a polymer sheet treated with glow discharge. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a polyethylene terephthalate sheet, etc. is treated with glow discharge and made hydrophilic. A gel medium layer obtained by polymerizing an acrylamidic compd. and a crosslinking agent in the presence of water is formed on the surface. A water-soluble polymer such as polyacrylamide and polyethylene glycol and agarose may be added to the gel medium layer to improve its plasticity. Besides, an anionic surfactant such as alkyl sulfate and a denaturing agent are preferably added to improve the separation of protein, especially compound protein. In addition, a cover sheet made of the same material as a support may be provided and cross-linked. In this way, the excellent electrophoretic medium material without causing any peeling-off, etc. due to electrophoresis and dyeing operation can be obtained. |
