<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the conveyance of overlaid sheets of copying paper in an imaging apparatus, by using an overlaid sheet conveyance detector to control an overlaid sheet coneyance preventer to separate one sheet from the others and convey the sheets at necessary intervals. CONSTITUTION:When the front edge of one of three overlaid sheets 2 of paper is detected by a sensor 31 during the conveyance of the overlaid sheets, signals S2, S3 with levels h2, h3, respectively, are generated so that rollers 29, 10 continue to rotate, the front edge of the sheet 2 collides against the roller 29 and the sheet is slightly curved. After that, the rollers 29 still keeps rotating but the level of the signal S3 is made zero to stop the rotation of the rollers 10 to continue to convey only the uppermost sheet 2b of paper. When the rear edge of the uppermost sheet 2b has passed through the sensor 31, the sensor detects the other two overlaid sheets 2c, 2d so that the rotation of the rollers 29 is stopped a necessary time after the uppermost sheet 2b has passed through between the rollers 29.</p> |
