PURPOSE:To eliminate such a danger as a user data and a user data managing information mingle with each other by adding an information for clarifying a capacity of an unrecorded part between a user data of an additional type optical disk and the user data managing information to the user data managing information, and managing the capacity of the unrecorded part. CONSTITUTION:A data managing information transferred from a host device is recorded in a user data managing information (VTOC) information sector part 4, and a VTOC number generated automatically by a writing circuit, a sector sequential number in the VTOC, a sector sequential number in the whole VTOC area, a VTOC head address, a VTOC final address, a user data final address, a VTOC managing flag, a VTOC data length, and a VTOC managing byte consisting of an unrecorded part capacity are recorded in a managing information sector part 5. By updating the VTOC managing byte whenever a user data is added, the user data and the VTOC are managed exactly without mingling with each other. |
