PURPOSE:To adjust easily the camber of a strip by making at least one of a pair of deflector rolls disposed on the opposite sides of a work roll in a tension leveler movable back and forth is the traveling direction of the strip. CONSTITUTION:A work roll 26, positioned underneath a strip 1, is supported movably and adjustably upward and downward by means of roll supports via two intermediate rolls 27a, 27b and three backup rolls 28a, 28b, 28c. On the other hand, a pair of deflector rolls 29a, 29b are provided forward and backward above a strip 1 in the traveling direction thereof and are independently supported by roll supports. The deflector roll 29b on the outlet side is made movable forward and backward and adjustable along the traveling direction. The change in the working radius of curvature is thus suppressed to about 1/10 of the influence to be given on the working radius of curvature when the intermeshing quantity is changed by the same quantity and the fluctuation of the camber is decreased accordingly. |
