PURPOSE:To facilitate the positioning of a ferrule, and reduce the influence of reflected light and improve optical transmission characteristics by allowing a ferrule end surface to abut on a lateral and longitudinal slanting surface. CONSTITUTION:A clamper 8 is provided to an optical fiber cable 1. The clad of an end part of the cable 1 is removed to separate the cable into plural optical fibers, which are arrayed and molded in a ferrule 6 which is sectioned rectangularly; and its end surface is polished longitudinally and laterally to an optical axis. Further, a jack-side ferrule 7 is treated similarly. Then, a groove 91 is formed on the ferrule 7 and the ferrule 6 is inserted from the direction as shown by an arrow A while a member is inserted and adhered, so that internal surfaces B and C of a plug 9 which contact the abutting end of the ferrule 7 at an obtuse angle serve as guide surfaces. Then, the projection 81 of the clamper 8 is fitted into the groove 91, and the abutting end surfaces of the ferrules 6 and 7 are pressed against each other. |
