In the suspension device, a suspension lug (2, 2') which can be arrested in an upper and lower end position and a lower transverse rib (3) with mounting ears (3a) located at its ends are attached on the rear of a base plate (1) manufactured of insulating material. The suspension lug (2) is provided with noses (2b) and only laid in a guide (1a) moulded in the base plate (1). A holding clip (4) located above which, in turn, is clamped to the base plate (1) and the transverse rib (3), presses the suspension lug (2) into the guide (1a). To move the suspension lug (2), for example, from the upper end position (in dashed lines) into the lower end position (in dot-dashed lines), the noses (2b) must be levered out of the recesses (1c) in opposition to the elasticity of the holding clip (4) on the rib (2e) and locked into the recesses (1b) after they have been moved. The electricity meter can thus be mounted with the suspension lug (2 and 2') being both uncovered or covered. <IMAGE>
