A dishwasher and a control method thereof are provided to condense vapor in a tub effectively and to reduce leakage rate of vapor by adding a water supply process for improving dry efficiency. A dishwasher comprises a water supply valve(700), a control unit(300), a memory unit(200), and a drive unit(400). The water supply valve supplies water into a tub. The control unit supplies cooling water into the tub before a dry process by controlling on/off of the water supply valve. The memory unit stores information on a washing process transmitted to the control unit. The drive unit powers a water discharge pump by the control unit. The cooling water is supplied at least one time to lower the inner temperature of the tub before start of a dry process after completion of a rinsing process.
