A device, a method, and a program for recording is provided to prevent data from being doubly recorded and to read the data accurately when reproduces, by recording dummy data from next of a final recording area to at least one area ahead of the final recording area, and recording the data from the initial area of the following block. A recording device comprises a detecting unit, and a recording control unit. The detecting unit detects the records of a data for every predetermined plural areas to detect a final recording area of an optical disk. The recording control unit records dummy data from next of the final recording area to at least one area ahead of the final recording area, and starts to record the data from the initial area of the following block.
