PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from knocking due to the delay of its cooling, by delaying the ignition timing only for a fixed time from a point of time when operation of the engine enters its high load range. CONSTITUTION:A negative pressure switch 9, used as a load sensor detecting the high loaded condition of an engine, is turned on only when operation of the engine comes into its high load range with a negative pressure (for instance, the combined negative pressure consisting of manifold negative pressure and throttle negative pressure) lower than the predetermined value. A monostable multivibrator 22 used as a timer means generates its output ST in a high level at a point of time when the negative pressure switch 9 is turned on, changing the output ST to a low level after a certain time. An analog switch 24, constituting a delay angle control means together with a delay angle circuit 8 in a fully transistorized ignition unit 4, is turned on only when the output ST of high level is generated. In this way, knocking of the engine due to the delay of its cooling is prevented. |
