In a device for severing edges of an installation box or a pipe connection projecting from a wall or a floor surface, a stop disc is designed in such a way that, both in the case of box bodies having two and also four fastening sleeves, it ensures perfect centring when cutting off the box body. The flaps or recesses provided for this purpose enable the stop disc to engage, with only a small amount of play, into the box bodies or pipe connections to be cut off.
