The invention relates to the design of tongue/groove joints of rectangular slabs, such as are customarily laid, pushed in and firmly nailed, for example, on the roof. The design of the tongue/groove joints aims to achieve a slab upper surface which is sealed against water draining off. The design according to the invention permits the use of remaining slab pieces with their tongue/groove joint in the descending direction, even in the lateral joint. In addition, the design of the lateral drainage groove produces improved leakage-water drainage with additional sealing by means of a sealing rib.
