摘要 PURPOSE:To attain high speed color processing with less color converting memory capacity by using n-bit for an address signal as to a color corresponding to an output color among inputted address signals to a color converting memory and using a high-order bit among the n-bit for an address signal corresponding to other color. CONSTITUTION:Three-color picture data 1a, 1b and 1c are inputted to color converting memories 3a, 3b are 3c as address signals. In this case, 6-bit is used for the 1a, 5-bit is used for the 1b and the high-order 5-bit is used for the 1c. The data after color conversion of the 1a is outputted in 6-bit as the output data from the memory 3a. Thus, the capacity of the memory 3a can be 49 k bytes and this corresponds to 6 dynamic RAMS in 64 k-bit. Similarly, the memories 3b, 3c of the same capacity are required for the 1c and 1b and the total memory capacity is 49KX3=147 k byte. In comparison with 590 k byte of a conventional example, the result is 147/590=0.25 and the memory capacity is decreased to nearly 1/4.
