<p>PURPOSE:To improve coordinate position accuracy with simple constitution by providing a piezoelectric element at two corners of both ends of a side of an input board for a pen touch input device and obtaining the coordinate position of a pen on the input board from the transmission time of the elastic wave of the 2-dimensional direction. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric elements 2-1 and 2-2 are connected to a drive circuit via lead wires, and a detection pen 3 incorporating a piezoelectric element is connected to a detecting circuit which is synchronous with the drive circuit. The elements 2-1 and 2-2 are driven alternately with a time interval T. Then the signals having delays t1 and t2 are produced from the drive signal at the pen 3. For the relationship among the coordinates (x, y) of the pen 3, l1 and l2, x=(a<2>+l1<2>-l2<2>)/2a and y=(l1<2>-x<2>)<1/2> are satisfied when the position of the element 2-1 is defined as an original point (0, 0). The pen 3 converting the mechanical vibration into an electric signal and vice versa in addition to the pen applying a piezoelectric element may be avoilable.</p> |
