PURPOSE:A fibrin membrane in which peroxidase is embeded is used to permit high-sensitivity and rapid determination of plasmin, namely fibrinase in blood. CONSTITUTION:Sodium citrate is added to inhibit the collected blood from coagulating, then it is subjected to centrifugation and the resultant serum is used as a sample. The sample is, when necessary, combined with a substance accelerating plasminogen conversion such as urokinase or streptokinase. A certain amount of fibrin membrane in which peroxidase prepared by a known method is embeded is added to the sample solution so that the plasmin in the blood is allowed to act on the fibrin at 37 deg.C for a certain time. Then, a prescribed amount of the reaction mixture is taken out of the reaction system and the activity of the free peroxidase is measured.
