Hand-held squeezer for fruits providing juice

A hand-held squeezer of this type comprises a removable, pot-shaped sieve insert which receives the item to be squeezed and is supported in a container which collects the squeezed-out juice. Provided at the top of the outer circumference of the container is a handle and, located diametrically opposite the latter, an outer hinge attachment with a lever handle hinged thereto. Hinged to the lever handle via a pusher rod is a squeezing plunger which is moved into the sieve insert whilst squeezing the two handles. In order to make the hand-held squeezer more suitable for citrus fruits, the bottom surface of the sieve insert and/or the pressing surface of the squeezing plunger can be converted into a surface with a curvature which projects or is set back in a bulging manner in the centre.
