By means of this sparging device, a gas is introduced into a liquid, particularly into a waste water liquid to be treated. A base body is provided for this purpose, which is assigned to a gas supply and which has at least one orifice for the passage of gas. The base body is enveloped by a preferably tubular membrane, which has a perforation or the like for discharge of the gas into the liquid. The base body has an antechamber, in the region of which the gas passage orifices are formed. The volume of the antechamber is smaller than the total volume of the base body. The membrane is designed in such a way, that the perforation for the discharge of the gas into the liquid essentially is open entirely outside the region of the antechamber.
