The invention relates to a screwed or riveted connection which connects various components, which rest on one another, to one another along a contact gap. The components are provided with a coating, even in the contact region, which coating prevents corrosion and is softer than the basic material, especially with a varnish. In the contact gap, a washer is placed around the screw or rivet shaft, which washer, on its flat side facing the varnished contact surface, is provided uniformly with blade-like beads which penetrate through the varnish down to the basic material, or with a large number of acute-angled pyramids. The washer material has at least approximately the same hardness as the basic material of the components which are to be connected. Such washers are intended to contribute to reducing the appearances of settlement in dynamically stressed screwed or riveted connections having varnished clamping surfaces. In this case, the washers can be fitted both in the contact gap of the clamping surface as well as under the screw or rivet head and/or under the nut.
