The gas spring (4) has a cylinder, which is filled with gas under pressure. A damping piston (16) is fixed at a distance from a piston (9) and at an end of the piston rod (10). A coaxial cylindrical damping pot (17) is movably arranged around a length corresponding to the distance between the piston and damping piston. An inner space (18) of the damping pot is connected with one of the operating chambers (14) by a throttle connection and a valve, where pulling movement of the damping pot is limited by a stopper, which is provided as a closing base of the cylinder.
