For installing an automobile glass pane by direct adhesion bonding, simultaneously with the adhesive strand (5) applied to the edge region of the glass pane (1) and co-extensive therewith, a flexible cord (6) with high strength is arranged in the adhesive strand (5) along the boundary surface (7) directed towards the viewing zone of the glass pane (1). The free ends (9, 10) of this cord (6) are guided over the glass pane edge and placed in the gap between the glass pane edge and the window frame (3%).
