PURPOSE:To enhance stability to environmental changes, by a method wherein microcapsules contained in an ink is exploded by thermal expansion, and an ink droplet is caused to fly with the explosion force as a propelling force. CONSTITUTION:An ink 12 having microcapsules 13 dispersed therein is sealed in a nozzle 11. The ink 12 is obtained by a method wherein the microcapsules B of 10-200mum in diameter comprising a material capable of being gasified by heating as a core substance and a conductive material having a surface resistance of not higher than 103OMEGA.cm adhered to the surfaces are dispersed in a conductive material A which is a solid, a semisolid or a liquid and becomes fluid when being heated. When an electric current is passed between electrodes 15, 16 through the ink, Joule heat is generated. The heat raises the gas pressure in the microcapsules contained in the ink, whereby the microcapsules are broken, and the energy of explosion causes the ink to fly in the form of an ink droplet 17 to a recording paper 18, thereby forming an image. |
