PURPOSE:To collect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), by purifying a human peritoneal dialyzate. CONSTITUTION:A human peritoneal dialyzate [obtained as a waste by the peritoneal dialytic therapy called continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD)] is purified by the ultrafiltering, concentrating, salting out, dialyzing, ion exchange chromatographic method, isoelectric electrophoretic method and gel filtration method to give the aimed cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The resultant CSF is useful for application to medicines as an anticancer agent and a remedy for leukopenia caused by irradiation or a remedy for various infectious diseases and further a diagnostic agent for the leukopenia and hypoplastic anemia, etc. The peritoneal dialyzate causes less pollution by pyrogenous substances than the human urine, and proteinic substances in the above-mentioned dialyzate are stable with little deterioration of the CSF, available in a large amount and further excellent as a CSF source.
