Device for treating rectal disorders consists of a cylindrical body with a conical nose at one end to facilitate insertion into the rectum and a collar to prevent the disc moving completely into the rectum. The device is made from a water swellable polymer in gel form containing at least 35% water. A suitable device is shown in fig. 2.
