PURPOSE:To compensate completely a dropout produced in a reproduced video signal from a recording medium by inserting and connecting a signal delay means having a delay time in matching with the delay time of the detecting operation of at least a dropout detecting circuit to a reproducing video signal input path. CONSTITUTION:Since the delay time td of a delay video signal S5 is set slightly longer than the delay time td' of the detecting operation of the dropout detecting circuit 3, the dropout of the delay video signal S5 is generated with a slighted delay than a detection pulse S2, and its end point of time is slightly faster than the end point of the detection pulse S2 because the time width T' of the detection pulse S2 is set slightly wider than the generation period T of the dropout. Thus, a signal switching addition circuit 4 is controlled by the detection pulse S2 and the dropout compensation is applied to the delay video signal S5, then a video signal S3 whose dropout is compensated completely is outputted from the signal switching and addition circuit 4 independently of the delay in the detecting operation of the dropout detecting circuit 3. |
