PURPOSE:To improve various capabilities and reliability of a tap changer without almost effecting the influence to the outer profile size of a transformer though two vacuum switches are used for a main contact by improving the disposition of the switches. CONSTITUTION:A converting switch 100 of a vacuum switch type on-load tap changer has a quick opening mechanism 101 for rotating the switch 100 at a high speed, conversion switch units 102, 103 having a current switching element (vacuum switch) and its driving mechanism, and a current limiting resistor 104 having a current limiting resistor for limiting the tap winding current. In such a structure, a vacuum switch connected at one electrode to a neutral point side, i.e., main contact vacuum switches 1, 2 and auxiliary contact vacuum switches 3a, 3b are disposed on the same plane, a vacuum switch connected at one electrode to the tap side, i.e., main contact vacuum switches 8, 9 are disposed on another plane from the switches 1, 2, 3a, 3b. Then, the two conversion switch having a circuit having no switches 8, 9 and the two vacuum switch 2 having the same profile size as the conversion switch are provided in series, thereby forming main contacts. |
