PURPOSE:To obtain a light-transmissive recording material for ink jet recording, capable of obtaining an image with high resolution and excellent color forming property and capable of being applied to an optical apparatus, by a method wherein an ink-absorbing layer consisting of a film comprising liquid-passing cracks is provided on a light-transmissive base. CONSTITUTION:An ink-absorbing layer coating liquid containing a film-forming high polymeric substance is applied to the light-transmissive base 1 such as a film of a polyester, a diester or the like or a glass plate in a quantity of 2-5g/ m<2> to provide the ink-absorbing layer 2 comprising liquid-passing unstable cracks 4. Further, the layer 2 preferably comprises a hydrophilic substance or a glycol- philic substance, and a hydrophilic polymer or a glycol-philic polymer can be used as the film-forming high polymer The width of the cracks 4 is ordinarily about several mum, which can be varied by the constituents, the composition, film-forming conditions, drying conditions or the like of the layer 2. |
