PURPOSE:To obtain a battery having high charge-discharge efficiency, long cycle life, decreased self discharge rate, flat discharge voltage, light weight, compact structure, and high energy density by using a specified aliphatic nitrile compound as organic solvent of electrolyte of a battery using a conductive high molecule compound in an electrode. CONSTITUTION:An aliphatic nitrile compound having a general formula indicated in the formula is used as organic solvent of electrolyte in a battery in which a high molecule compound having conjugated double bond in its principal chain or a conductive high molecule compound obtained by doping dopant in the high molecule compound is used in at least one of electrodes. For example, two pieces are cut from an acetylene high polymer film containing 98% cis, and are mechanically fixed to platinum wires separately by compression and used as positive and negative electrodes respectively, and valeronitrile solution containing 1.0mol/l of (Bu4N)<+>(BF4)<-> is used as electrolyte to form a secondary battery. |
