MANUFACTURE OF MOLDED COIL

PURPOSE:To obtain a molded coil of good workability by a method wherein a bias-cut cloth tape and orthogonal cloth tapes are applied to the curved part and the straight part of the coil respectively. CONSTITUTION:A bias-cut cloth tape 1 is wound to cover the curved part of a bundle of coil element wires 3 and orthogonal cloth tapes 2 are wound to cover the straight parts. The bias-cut cloth tape 1 is expanded along the directions of arrows to the ends of the orthogonal cloth tapes 2. Then the two ends of the expanded tape 1 and the ends of the orthogonal cloth tapes 2 are butted and sewed together. After that the coil is attached to a die and subjected to the resin impregnation process and a molded coil is formed. With this constitution, a molded coil of the good workability can be obtained.
