PURPOSE:To operate appropriate engine brake according to a vehicle speed, by making a change speed of a stepless speed change gear in a speed reduction period of time of a vehicle into a decrease function of the vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:A change speed (e') of CVT4 in a speed reduction period of time of a vehicle is made into a decrease function of a vehicle speed V. With this constitution, an engine brake acts upon weakly at the time of a high vehicle speed and strongly at the time of a low vehicle speed. An appropriate engine speed, therefore, corresponding to a driving state can be made to generate. |
