PURPOSE:To obtain strong braking force in the longitudinal direction of a vehicular body, by hinging a crank, whose tip is connected with a brake shoe, on a supporting plate for adjustment hinged on the inside of a brake drum in its radial direction. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of a crank 21 hinged on a supporting plate 20 for adjustment is connected with a flange 19 of the back of a backing metal 16a of a brake shoe 16 through a link component 22. The supporting plate 20 for adjustment is hinged 20a on a brake cover 12 at a part positioning inward in the radial direction of a brake drum 13. At the initial stage, therefore, of braking operation, the brake shoe 16 is pressed against the brake drum 13 through a link component 22, and a brake band 14 connected with the brake shoe 16 unitarily is tightened up inward by turning along with the brake drum 13 through downward movement of the link component 22, through which strong brake force is made to generate. |
