A device for opening/closing a paper pressing plate, and an office automation equipment having a paper pressing plate are provided to solve a problem that if a leg part is not moved in a direction in which a roller member rolls, the roller member does not roll, making it difficult for the leg part to be smoothly moved. A leg part(3) of a paper pressing plate opening/closing device main body(2) is slidably inserted in an installation hole(15) installed in a device main body(11) of an office automation equipment(10) having a paper pressing plate(12). The paper pressing plate is installed at the paper pressing plate opening/closing device main body to support the paper pressing plate with respect to the device main body such that it can be opened and closed. A spherical sliding member pressed to an inner wall of the installation hole and slidably contacting with the inner wall is rotatably installed at the led part. Contact glass is installed on an upper surface of the device main body. Paper is tightly attached to the contact glass by the paper pressing plate, and at the same, the contact glass is covered by the paper pressing plate.
