PURPOSE:To obtain high-Cr cast iron with superior toughness by adding specified percentages of Cr, Nb and Ti to cast iron. CONSTITUTION:High-Cr cast iron contg. 15.0-30.0% Cr and 1.5-4.5% in total of Nb and/or Ti is prepd. By adding Nb and/or Ti, the high Cr cast iron is provided with a structure contg. fine NbC and/or TiC with high hardness dispersed in the matrix, so the toughness is remarkably improved.
