NEW MATERIAL:A physiologically active substance MH435 expressed by formula I [R is A or B (A is -CH=CH-NHCHO; B is -CH2-CH2-NHCHO)]. USE:An antitumor agent and antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:An MH-435-hF strain (FERM-P No.8246) belonging to the genus Streptomyces is cultivated in an agar culture medium, e.g. sucrose nitrate; glucose.asparagine; glycerol.asparagine, etc., at about 30 deg.C, preferably 25-30 deg.C by the aerobic liquid submerged culture method. The resultant culture is then extracted with ethyl acetate, etc., adsorbed in a suitable adsorbent, e.g. active carbon, etc., and purified to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. |
