PURPOSE:To prevent deficient cleaning throughout all the span by joining 2 parallel elastic plates at both ends, forming a proper number of slits in the longitudinal direction from the top, fixing their bases to an arm, and joining a cleaning blade on one of the plates. CONSTITUTION:As a photosensitive body 1 rotates, the contact line P of a blade 13 and the body 1 undergoes a force in the tangent direction, but since 2 elastic plates 10, 11 have a U-shape, and high in rigidity against bending, the free end of the blade 13 performs parallel motion, as shown in the figure. Therefore, an angle theta' formed with the tangent plane at the contact line P' of the edge of the blade 13 and the rotating body 1, and the top face of the blade 13 on the upstream side changes very little. Since the plates 10, 11 have a proper number of slits 12 formed in the longitudinal direction from the top, even if any local force exerts on the surface of the body 1, only a narrow part of the plates 10, 11 deforms, therefore, a greater part of the blade 13 uniformly contacts the body, and deficient cleaning can be thus prevented throughout all the width. |
