PURPOSE:To obtain stably low N steel or low P steel by keeping slag in a converter at a prescribed height in the last stage of blowing to prevent the absorption of nitrogen. CONSTITUTION:When refining is carried out by blowing in a converter, the level of sound poduced from the converter is measured with a sound meter or the like to measure the height of slag in the converter in the last stage of blowing. The slag is kept at a height above the height of the steel discharging port and below a position where the ratio to the height of the converter is 1 by various means. Thus, the level of the slag is stabilized at a high position, and low N steel or low P steel is stably obtd. |
