PURPOSE:To facilitate the selection of the cooling operation or the heating operation in middle seasons and improve the maneuverability of the air conditioner by detecting the temperatures of humidities on the indoor side or outdoor side, and displaying ideal air conditioning during the operation responsive to the detected signal. CONSTITUTION:When an operation switch 7 is set from the stoppage to blowing, an indoor blower and an outdoor blower are operated to form a wind circuit. Upon this occasion, any of the cooling mode operation and the heating mode operation is selected by an outdoor temperature and humidity sensor, and further the temperature of the outside air is sensed by an outdoor temperature sensor. By judging that the air conditioner is in a radiating state or in an endothermic state, an ideal air conditioning operation indicating lamp 13 is lighted, and whether the cooling mode operation or the heating mode operation is to be set is indicated. In this way, by providing the indicating lamp 13, starting of obtaining the ideal air conditioning can be quickened and thus an efficient air conditioner can be obtained.
