PURPOSE:To improve the rotating limit of a tappet valve system by elastically holding a valve lifter against a cam via a spring. CONSTITUTION:A valve lifter 6 is provided so as to be opposed to a cam 4 provided on a cam shaft 1. A clip groove 15 is formed on each valve lifter 6, the curled section 16a of a wire-like spring 16 is inserted into the clip groove 15, and the valve lifter 6 is elastically held by the cam 4. By forming a push rod 9 with a strong material, the valve lifter 6 is not separated from the cam even if the inertial weight is increased, thus the rotating limit of a tappet valve system can be improved. |
