A multi-number monitor modem is provided to seek defective and deteriorated devices on transmission and reception paths of a repeater and check the states of feeder cables. When an inner device on a transmission path is measured, transmission signals at a measurement point on the transmission path are connected to respective transmission input ports(3-11,3-12,3-13) and a single reception signal at a first point is connected to a reception common input port(3-6). A controller(3-3) selects numbers within a memory(3-4) correspondingly to the transmission and reception signals to transmit the transmission and reception signals. When an inner device on a reception path is measured, transmission signals at a measurement point on the reception path are connected to respective reception input ports(3-61,3-62,3-63) and a single transmission signal at a second point is connected to a transmission common input port(3-1). The controller selects numbers within the memory correspondingly to the reception and transmission signals to transmit the reception and transmission signals.
