PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of a head and the driving performance of a recording medium by forming a notch on the head surface of the 1st core having an earlier contact with the recording medium at the position where a contact is secured with the recording medium, filling a lubricant into said notch and forming the 2nd notch on the head surface of the 2nd core. CONSTITUTION:For a vdieo magnetic head in particular, a notch 8 is formed to the 1st core 4 having an earlier contact with a non-binder type magnetic recording medium 2 on the surface where a contact is secured with the medium 2. Then a single or a composite solid state lubricant such as MoS, graphite, etc. or a mixture 10 of a synthetic resin binder and a lubricant is filled into the notch 8. While a notch 9 is formed to the 2nd core 5 at a place between positions out of a surface 7 where a contact is secured with the medium 2. Thus a lubricant layer is formed between surfaces 6 and 7 by the lubricant 10, and then the lubricant 10 is collected into the notch 9. Thus the wear resistance of a head 1 is improved together with the driving performance of the medium 2. |
