<p>PURPOSE:To lessen the thickness of a sheet folded in two by providing guides, the inside of which can be adjusted, thereby folding a sheet at two places in two-stage to be folded in two. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 10 is fed into a guide 4 at a pressure contact portion A, and the leading edge 10a of the sheet is brought into contact with a stopper 5 to bend and deform the sheet 10 between a fixed guide 6 and a movable guide 8 and advance the middle part 10b into a pressure contact portion B, so that the sheet 10 is folded in two and discharged at the pressure contact portion B. Subsequently, a solenoid 9 is excited to pivot a movable guide 8 upward to enlarge the inner width of the guide 4. In such a condition, the sheet 10 folded in two is inserted at the folding part 10b into the contact pressure portion A to be fed into toward the guide 4, and the sheet leading edge 10a side 10' is bent and deformed between the fixed guide 6 and the movable guide 8, so that the leading edge 10a of the sheet is separated from the pressure contact portion A and the sheet leading edge side 10' is placed on the sheet base end 10c side 10'' to be advnaced into the pressure contact portion B and fed out. Thus, the already formed folding portion 10b and a portion 10'b a little apart therefrom are folded in two.</p> |
