PURPOSE:To prevent curling of a sheet to be transported by forming concave- convex portions in the vicinity of a projecting portion where curling is liable to happen in a printer. CONSTITUTION:A semi-cylindrical heating unit 103 which is a part of a heat printing portion of a thermal head in a facsimile apparatus is disposed on a ceramic substrate 101 orthogonally to the direction of transporting a recording paper P, and a lead electrode 102 of a number corresponding to the print dot number is coupled to the heating unit 103. Semi-cylindrical projection portions DC1 arranged orthogonally to the arranging direction of the heating unit 103, that is, having the same height as the heating unit 103 along the direction of transporting the recording paper P are formed on the upper surface of a wear- resisting protective glass film 104. As heat printing is performed, with the recording paper P brought into pressure contact with the semi-cylindrical projections, the recording paper P is corrugated in the thrust direction by the projection portions DC1 to let have firmness in the thrust direction. Thus, conventional curling can be prevented. |
