PURPOSE:To use a memory cassette device stably even if the device is used at a bad using environment by storing a magnetic recording plate in a case having a door to constitute a dust preventing cassette and providing an adaptor device having a magnetic recording unit with a means taking out the magnetic recording plate in the case and charging said plate in a magnetic recording unit. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording plate, a floppy disc 13 e.g., is stored in the case 12 having a cover 11. A memory cassette device 100 consists of a cassette 1 and an adaptor 2, and when a cassette 1 is inserted from an insertion port 21, the cassette 1 is locked by the adaptor 2 at a prescribed position corresponding to the cassette length of the inserting direction, 1/3 or 1/2, or a position where the cassette 1 is completely charged so that the cassette 1 is disabled to be pulled out. Consequently, the door 11 of the cassette 1 is unlocked, the door 11 is opened and the floppy disc 13 is taken out from the cassette 1 automatically or manually and charged to a disc drive 22.
