<p>PURPOSE:The reaction between an alkoxymethylated melamine, an ethylenically alpha,beta- unsaturated compound and a polyol gives said curing resin capable of giving coating films with high flexibility, resistance to weathering, chemicals and impact. CONSTITUTION:To (A) 1 mole of an alkoxymethylated melamine having 3 or more alkoxymethyl group per melamine nucleus are added (B) 1.0-5.5 equivalent amount on the average, based on the hydroxyl group, of a one or more hydroxyl-group-bearing ester that is an esterification product from a polyhydric alcohol and an, ethylenically alpha,beta- unsaturated compound and (C) a polyol bearing 2 or more alcoholic or phenolic hydroxyl groups in such an amount that the hydroxyl groups becomes 0.5-5.0 equivalent on the average and the resulting mixture is subjected to reaction in the presence of an acid catalyst at 30-180 deg.C.</p> |
