The present invention relates to a construction block equipped with a vertical seal and the method for its manufacture. The construction block according to the invention is characterised in that it comprises, on at least one of its vertical joint faces 12, 14, one or more grooves 10 extending in a general vertical direction over the whole height of the block, each groove 10 being intended for receiving a seal 16 which is made of deformable material, a first internal part 18 of which has a shape which is at least substantially complementary to that of the corresponding groove 10 and a second external projecting part 20 of which is intended to be compressed between the vertical joint faces 12, 14 opposite two adjacent blocks when the latter are moved towards each other. <IMAGE>
